How to Enable and Make Scrollbars in OSX Lion Visible

You’ve probably noticed by default that all scroll bars in Lion are now invisible until required. For some this might be confusing. If you want scrollbars turned on by default, all it takes it to change a single setting.

In System Prefs, click General, select “Always” under show scroll bars.

Thank you— just to point out– for some applications the scroll arrows are STILL invisible, but if you click where they SHOULD be, it will operate as though they’re there. Must be a bug. Fix it, Apple.
